How To Wears Chains?

Chains, Ippolita.

You probably have noticed if you followed the previous fashion shows that this fall will be all about chains. Naturally we don’t want to wear 3kg of chains around the neck every day. So the real question is, how to wear chains? Well Vogue Gioiello Online made a rather nice work into figuring this out in their Chain Game photo shoots. I love this Ben Amun back necklace in the last picture..

A True Diamond Ring

Shawish created, what hardly seems possible, a ring made of one single faceted diamond reportedly weighing 150 cts. and will retail for £43 million. According to Shawish, who patented the concept, it is the “first diamond ring”. This definitely will give a kick to the whole industry. I’m looking forward to see what’s coming next.

In 2009, almost a century after the Russian Revolution, the iconic jewelry brand Fabergé was re-launched with its three beautiful Les Fabuleuses de Fabergé Collections created under the direction of Katharina Flohr. Fabergé was truly reborn this summer, when the first of Les Fameux de Fabergé high jewelry egg pendants were launched in Paris, during Couture Week. The icon is back and ready to conquer with its exquisite jewels especially Les Frissons de Fabergé fine jewelry egg pendants collection!

Materials, Design & Function

An artist jeweler based in Chicago named Gillion Carrara I recently discovered, creates the most amazing pieces. I really appreciate when jewelers think of their work as a whole. The problem with art jewelry is that if it becomes too conceptual it often will be unwearable. Carrara tells us “My work explores the relationship between materials, design and function.” Isn’t that exactly what jewelry is all about?

Gold Rush

How to begin fall better than with an auction. It’s a bit late now to talk about today’s Christie’s Auction, however there will be an auction on the 20th at Sotheby’s New York, where you will be able to see a rather impressive 2,59ct Fancy Intense Blue Diamond and a gorgeous Tutti Frutti Cartier Bracelet (See the e-catalog).

Don’t ask me why but lately the only thing that I seem to able to think of is gold! So a few pieces caught my attention, not because they are exceptionally exceptional but rather because I’d love to wear them this fall. What do you think? Will this fall be golden?
