It’s Heaven… I am usually so disappointed about jewelry Shop Windows and how people sometimes don’t get that shop windows are the first impression, the one that counts most. Van Cleef & Arpels and installation artist Douglas Little definitely brought my hopes up this Christmas with their
fantastic what am I saying AMAZING Jules Verne inspired windows on 5th Avenue.
Journey to the Center of the Earth
Five Weeks in a Balloon
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Caspar David Friedrich Inspiration
One can’t see the jewelry so well on those pictures but one can imagine how magical it must feel to stand in front of VCA’s windows, how curious one has to become to enter this magical world and discover the enchanting jewelry. Especially if one has heard about what is waiting inside.
Douglas Little placed this beautiful Sea Women statue inside VCA and jeweled it with the stunning diamonds and aquamarines Krafla necklace from the “Journey to the center of the Earth” Collection. According to their Facebook Page this “statue conveys the idea of nature spirits, the ethereal and the fantastic. It is finished with cream abalone, rock crystal and white coral, emerging from a gold and silver-leafed crystal explosion.” I advise you to visit VCA on Facebook, there you will find an exclusive video presenting Douglas Little’s work. Merry Christmas xxx

Brass chain Covered with embroidery Element composed by Swarovski crystals, by SHOUROUK
In my Save me Chaumet post, I was telling about the obvious daily advantages of Head Jewelry vs Tiaras but still in a fine jewelry version. This is a fashion jewelry version of headbands by Shourouk and the matching necklace.
Metal branch covered with crochet and embroidery elements composed by Swarovski & Glass crystals, by SHOUROUK
I would say Shourouk is a sort mix between Barock, Glamour and Paris…
plus a little Retro Touch! Lovely, isn’t it?

Have you already been to an Indian wedding? If you are for the first time, make sure you know what you are invited to exactly because in India, weddings last about a week…
The many many prayers, ceremonies and receptions give you time to admire the beautiful outfits and jewelry people wear. If I were to give prizes for the best looks on THE actual wedding night here would be my winners
1. The lovely Bride
. 2. The Bride’s lovely Sister 3. The Bride’s lovely Cousin
Women wore loads of jewelry, which is nice for a change. In India a woman without gold is no woman… Well, almost ;)
My conclusion about these 2 weeks in India: I love the Indian Style ; I became highly addicted to Indian sweet pastry ; and I have to go again, there are so many things I couldn’t see…

The Golden Temple! Last week we went to Amritsar to visit the Golden Temple. It was such an incredible experience. And because it was my favorite part of these two weeks in India, this is my first “Indian” post. Coming next an Indian Wedding!
