The Cartier Halo Tiara Back In Time

The Cartier Halo Tiara was made in 1936. It was originally purchased by the Duke of York for his Duchess, who would become King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother a few weeks later. After having been passed down two generations, the Halo Tiara was worn today by the beautiful Catherine for her wedding with Prince William.

Such a gorgeous piece of jewellery! I’m glad Kate wore it today.
beautiful!! I loved your post !
I had forgotten how strikingly handsome George VI had been.
Also, this is a lovely tiara, and by choosing one so closely associated with her mother, her sister and her daughter, it seems to me that HM the Queen wishes to firmly and clearly welcome the new Duchess of Cambridge into her family – as family. A touching gesture that goes far beyond the value of the jewels.
I agree. It also seems to me that the halo tiara was in each case the first tiara, like a beginner’s tiara for the women of the royal family.
The halo cartier tiara is beautiful and complimented Kate perfectly on the day.
